      1/25/05 Critical Bug Fix in Demo Version
           In IsoEngine SDK Version 1.07 Demo, there was a serious bug that caused the map editor to crash when placing map objects onto the map. We have released a critical update, IsoEngine SDK Version 1.07r1 Demo, to fix this problem. We apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused.
     
      12/25/04 IsoEngine SDK Version 1.07
           From all of us at First Productions Softawre, we hope you all are having a happy holiday. As a special gift to all of our users, we are releasing a long-awaited update that contains miscellaneous changes that you, the users, have requested.  We also have included an important bug fix in the map editor that caused it to crash during startup on some computers.  Download it here.       1/1/04 IsoEngine SDK Version 1.06
           Happy new year everyone! A major optimization in the map editor has been discovered, which caused us to release a minor update - IsoEngine SDK Version 1.06.  While the amount of changes in the update is small, the optimization is quite huge: the speed of the map editor is now 4-5x faster, so you will not experience any more lag when creating your maps.       12/16/03 IsoEngine SDK Version 1.05
           IsoEngine Version 1.05 has been released!  The new version includes an enhanced interface in the map editor (looks like Office® 2003), now version 5.1, with multiple undoes and redoes, updated tools, bug fixes, and more. The tutorials have also been updated, as well as bug fixes in the new version of the IsoEngine dll (3.7). Check it out!
     
      9/13/03 Version 1.04 Has Arrived!
           IsoEngine Version 1.04 has been released!  The new version includes an enhanced interface in the map editor, now version 5.0, with integrated support, tips, a welcome screen, optimizations, bug fixes in the tile blender, and more.  It also features a more extrensive toolbar, and Office XP®-style menus and toolbars.  Also, IsoEngine Version 3.6 features character animation support as well as the explosion animations found in previous versions, and MP3 support, so you can easily play your favorite music in your games!       7/29/03 1.03 Has Been Released!
           IsoEngine Version 1.03 has been released!  The new version includes updated help for IsoEngine and the Map Editor, various bug fixes, and automatic tile transitioning!  The fog of war also has automatic transitioning.  Download your copy now! Also, there are new screenshots of the map editor, samples, tools, and other projects. Please visit our forums and post your comments!
     
      6/10/03 1.02 Is Here!
           IsoEngine Version 1.02 is now released!  It has been released a little early to resolve some issues, so the help hasnt been updated yet. New features for the demo include the ability to save maps, finally a good-looking watermark, the ability to choose which corner of the screen you want it in (SetWatermarkCorner), the removal of the annoying ad window, and an updated Initialize box.  Also, all of the things listed in the previous news item have been added. The only thing that hasnt been added yet (since the release is early) is the automatic tile transitioning, which will probably be in the next release.
     
      6/8/03 New Features Planned for Next Version
           Here are a list of features we plan to put in the next version of IsoEngine:
     
      Automatic customizable tile transitioning - this means there will be no need for you to create your own transitions anymore!
      Improved speed in demo version
      Ability to take screenshots through code
      Switch between different resolutions and bit-depths in the middle of rendering
      Improved minimap draw speed
      Modify textures at pixel level through code
      Other engine features, optimizations, and bug fixes

      3/1/03 IsoEngine Demo SDK Updated
         IsoEngine Demo SDK has been updated to include the samples.  Download the new version (1.01) from the downloads page.
     
      1/4/03 IsoEngine SDK Released!
         IsoEngine SDKs first public release is today! Try it out on your computer with the free demo, or you can purchase the full version. New features in IsoEngine Version 3.3 include AI pathfinding, fog of war, music engine, full IGF support, and more.  Whats new in IsoEngine Map Editor 4.6 is full tileset creation support, tileset switching, support for any sized tiles, Tile Blender update, several bug fixes, and more. New samples include Slideshow Sample, Light Engine, and AI Pathfinding Sample.
     
      12/25/02 IsoEngine SDK is Almost Ready!
         Happy holidays everyone! IsoEngine SDK Version 1.0 is almost ready to be released.  Both IsoEngine and IsoEngine Map Editor have been updated.  A few new features have been added, as well as several bug fixes.  A new sample called Light Engine has been added.  Here are a couple of screenshots of the Light Engine.  The estimated release date of IsoEngine SDK is January 6th.
     
      12/22/02 New Sample - 3D Snake
         3D Snake, the newest sample, has been added to the SDK.  It is the most complete sample, including a main menu, help, options, etc.  Its isometric style makes it look 3D because there are two elevations - ground (upper elevation) and lava (lower elevation).  3D Snake comes with 11 levels increasing in difficulty.  It comes with the complete Visual Basic source code.  Here are some screenshots of 3D Snake.
     
      12/7/02 IsoEngine Graphics Creator
         A new tool has been added to the SDK - the IsoEngine Graphics Creator. This tool allows users to combine a bunch of graphics into one file. The textures in the file can be used through the engine, and can be loaded very quickly.  It can contain individual textures combined into a file, a series of textures that make up an animation, all of the tile textures stored in one file, or all of the object textures stored into one file.  Not only can it store graphics, but it also can store sounds, text files, or any other type of file. Using these files reduces almost completely if not eliminates the amount of people stealing your graphics and sounds.
     
      10/31/02 IsoEngine Version 3.2
         Happy Halloween! IsoEngine Version 3.2 has been finished.  New features include support for custom bitmap animations and a horizontally wrapping world option in the camera class.  A new explosion animation has been included in the SDK.
     
      10/20/02 Map Editor Version 4.5 & IsoEngine Version 3.1
         IsoEngine Map Editor version 4.5 has been completed!  The new features in this version are the new Texture Manager, where you can insert and delete textures in a few clicks.  If you insert a texture or delete a texture in the middle of the list of textures, your maps will look the same as they did before.  There is a new tool called Tile Variations Creator. It is used to create three variations for any tile.  A new texture type has been added, called Triple Height.  This is used for making really tall objects in your maps.  IsoEngine 3.1 has been completed to support the new texture type, plus some new math functions and bug fixes.
     
      10/15/02 Map Editor Version 4.0
         IsoEngine Map Editor version 4.0 completed. The new map editor includes a new tool called Tile Animator, which can animate tiles in eight directions.  The new object layer has been put into the map editor.
     
      10/6/02 More New Samples
         Sound and sprite samples completed. The sound sample can play wave and midi files, and the sprite sample shows what you can do with sprites - rotation, scaling, alphablending, bilinear filtering, etc. Notice the high FPS when you run it (about 1000 average FPS on a 400 MHz Pentium II computer).
     
      10/5/02 New Pong Sample
         Pong sample completed.  This sample shows how to handle keyboard input correctly. This is a one-player version of Pong.
     
      9/16/02 Map Editor Version 3.5
         IsoEngine Map Editor version 3.5 completed. The map editor now uses the IsoEngine DLL file instead of its own internal engine, which decreased the size of the Map Editor EXE file. Miniature texture previews have been added to the texture selection list box, and a new slider has been added.
     
      9/15/02 IsoEngine Version 3.0
         IsoEngine 3.0 has been completed! Features of the new version include day/night cycles, improved FPS from DirectX 7 to DirectX 8 port. Other features include gradients, alphablending, sprite rotation, bilinear filtering, unlimited color keys, and more!  Website construction starts today.
     
      9/9/02 Map Editor Version 3.0
         IsoEngine Map Editor version 3.0 completed. It has a new, sleeker look to it, with an improved interface.  New tools include Getting Started with Coding Wizard, Automated Shape Creation.  Tile Blender has been improved and is now integrated into the Map Editor.
     
      9/6/02 IsoEngine Version 2.0
         IsoEngine 2.0 completed.  New features include the new binary map file format, and support for up to 32767 tile textures. The first tool has been created, called Tile Blender.  It blends two tiles together using a gradient.  There are forty different blends to choose from, each with their own uses.
     
      7/31/02 Map Editor Version 2.0
         IsoEngine Map Editor version 2.0 completed. A new tile preview feature has been added, as well as the ability to create brushes, which get saved in the map file.  Also, you can now change the size of the main brush.
     
      7/19/02 IsoEngine Version 1.0
         The first version of IsoEngine has been completed.  IsoEngine is a DLL file containing classes that help users make isometric and 2D games when referenced to their projects.  Version 1 of IsoEngine uses DirectX 7s DirectDraw. It has many features, including drawing of shapes, lines, and graphics, and maps.  Graphics can be flipped, but rotation doesnt seem possible with DirectDraw.  Maps from the Isometric Map Editor can be loaded into your games with only one line of code.
     
      6/27/02 Isometric Map Editor Version 1.0
         Isometric Map Editor is a helpful tool to create isometric maps.  Its features include a MiniMap, arrow-key navigation, and undo/redo.  Maps are saved in an easy-to-read ASCII format that supports almost 200 tiles, which can then be easily loaded into an isometric game, using a small block of code.
